Pest problems in Rochedale South, like other suburbs in Logan City, is common. A combination of many factors make the suburbs attractive to certain pests, including cockroaches, termites, ants, rodents, etc.
Termite Treatment
Home insurance doesn’t usually cover termite damage, potentially leaving homeowners financially stressed if their home is attacked by termites. These pests are challenging to detect and identify because they live, work and eat deep beneath the ground. In fact, termites can burrow long distance underground in search of food. If you find a termite nest in your yard, your home has most likely been infested by termites.
They are most active during the warmer months, so when you see flying ants, or alates, emerge from you home, it is safe to assume that you have an infestation. Eliminating termites doesn’t mean your problem is done. Termites are known to come back to a food source. So, if your home had been targeted previously, chances are it could be again. Therefore, it is important to have on-going termite management and control.
Rodent Treatment
Indoor buildings are attractive rodents because they are potentially sources of food, water and shelter. Rats and mice are more prominent during the cooler months as they search for shelter and warmth. Finding rodents in your home can be troubling, so getting rid of them is of paramount importance. Rodents are carriers of pathogens that can cause various diseases. In addition, they’re chewing habit can cause extensive physical damage to homes and belongings.
Ant Removal
It seems like ants just appear in your home out of nowhere. They don’t. However, it all takes is for even one ant to find a food source and seemingly a hundred ants will suddenly appear. This is because when ants are searching for food, they leave behind an invisible chemical along their path that allows other ants to follow it. Ants will carry those tiny crumbs of food back to the nest, which can be within the walls of your house, under floorboards or any place realty in your house. DIY products disrupt ant paths, but they’re not reliable treatments for the long term.
Spider Removal
Spiders that you find indoors prefer warm, dark small places and they can be a nuisance. The outdoor spiders, on the other hand, are also an irritant because of their webbing. These eight-legged creatures are more active as it becomes colder in autumn. They find mates and lay their eggs, which are either hidden in their web or carried by the female. Identifying which species of spider, you’re dealing with is important as it provides an idea of the most effective way to remove them.
Cockroach Treatment
Cockroaches are one of the oldest pests/insects on earth, with fossil evidence showing that they have existed for more than 300 million years. It is so easy for cockroaches to get into homes because their exoskeleton allows them to squeeze into even the smallest of gaps. Cockroaches prefer to be unseen, so seeing a cockroach in broad daylight could mean you’re probably dealing with an infestation.
