Mundoolun sits in the Albert River valley, bounded by the river to the east and the Birnam Range to the west, with just over 1,800 residents at the last census.
It's a rural locality shaped by 180 years of pastoral history: the Collins family took up the Mundoolun run in the 1840s and later built the heritage-listed St John's Church here from local sandstone and cedar. That depth of history means pest control Mundoolun regularly involves century-old timber alongside the rural-residential subdivision that's grown off Mundoolun Road in recent years. Bob Gunn Termite & Pest Control has worked this valley for 25+ years with our own in-house technicians.

Properties in the Albert River valley around Mundoolun range from heritage homesteads with original cedar joinery to newer rural-residential blocks subdivided off Mundoolun Road. Pest control Mundoolun work has to account for both: older timber that's had a century or more to attract termite activity, and newer builds that still need a proper inspection despite looking low-risk on the surface. Every termite treatment Mundoolun and general pest control Mundoolun visit starts with reading which category a property falls into.
Mundoolun's valley setting between the Albert River and the Birnam Range creates a specific combination: river-adjacent moisture, dense range-side vegetation, and a cluster of genuinely old timber buildings dating back to the district's pastoral settlement. Generic pest control providers don't factor heritage timber into their approach; we do.
Our pest control Mundoolun service covers the valley's full range of property types, from heritage-era homesteads to the newer rural-residential subdivision off Mundoolun Road.

More on rodent control →Mundoolun sits in the Albert River valley, bounded by the Albert River to the east and the Birnam Range to the west. The name is said to come from a Wangerriburra word for death adder, reflecting the area's deep Aboriginal history before pastoral settlement. William Humphries took up the Mundoolun run in 1842, and by 1847 the Collins family (who had bought part of the property in 1844) held it in full. The Collins family went on to build St John's Church at Mundoolun in 1900-02 from local sandstone and cedar, a heritage-listed building with an adjoining cemetery that still stands today.
That pastoral history left genuinely old timber scattered through the valley, not just the heritage church, but homestead buildings, fence lines and sheds that have stood for a century or more, many of them close to the Albert River or tucked against the Birnam Range. Both of those features add termite pressure: river proximity keeps soil moisture up, and the dense vegetation along the range gives colonies cover and food sources close to the boundary of built-up properties. More recently, a rural-residential subdivision has opened off Mundoolun Road, bringing newer homes into the same valley.
For pest control purposes, Mundoolun is really two populations of buildings in one valley: century-old structures that need careful, respectful inspection, and newer rural-residential homes that need standard but thorough termite protection. We treat them differently rather than running the same script on both.
Alongside pest control Mundoolun, we service the wider Albert River valley and neighbouring Scenic Rim border suburbs, with termite treatment and general pest control visits often scheduled together across the area.

Yes. We regularly inspect and treat properties with genuinely old timber, including structures built from local cedar and sandstone, with the care that heritage-era buildings require.
Yes. Dense vegetation along the range gives termite colonies and ants cover and food sources close to property boundaries. We factor range proximity into how we site barriers on Mundoolun properties.
Yes. Properties nearer the Albert River tend to have damper soil for longer after rain, which supports higher termite activity than drier ground further from the water.
Yes. We treat both the valley's older heritage properties and the newer rural-residential subdivision, scoping each visit to the property type.
We recommend annual inspections given the combination of river moisture, range vegetation and older timber stock common across the valley.
Cost depends on property age, size and whether termites are already active. We provide a fixed, written quote after inspection.
Mundoolun is a rural locality within Logan City, set in the Albert River valley between the river and the Birnam Range, roughly 15km north-east of Beaudesert. Its pastoral history dates to the 1840s, and the heritage-listed St John's Church remains a landmark of that era. The valley's combination of river moisture, range-side bushland and genuinely old timber stock is central to how we approach every pest control Mundoolun job.
