Termite Inspections
Full inspection with extra attention to reserve-boundary properties, where native bushland pressure runs higher than elsewhere in the suburb.

Greenbank is unlike any other suburb in our service area: most of its residential streets sit south-west of the roughly 4,500-hectare Greenbank Military Range, a heritage-listed training ground and flora and fauna reserve the Commonwealth began acquiring in 1951.
That's a huge, continuous block of protected bushland sitting right against residential blocks, a genuinely different scale of pest pressure to a suburb bordering a small local park. Bob Gunn Termite & Pest Control has worked Greenbank for 25+ years with our own in-house technicians, who know how proximity to a reserve that size changes a termite inspection.

Because the Greenbank Military Range covers so much ground right beside residential Greenbank, properties closest to the reserve boundary face more sustained pest pressure from native bushland than a typical suburban home bordering a small reserve or park. Pest control Greenbank work has to factor in that scale, alongside the area's history of 1870s farm selections that left old timber on properties further from the reserve. Every termite treatment Greenbank and general pest control Greenbank visit we run starts with where a property sits relative to the range.
No other suburb in the corridor has a 4,500-hectare heritage-listed bushland reserve as a neighbour. A pest control Greenbank provider needs to understand that scale of bushland pressure, not treat it like a standard bordering-reserve suburb.
Our pest control Greenbank service is scaled to the suburb's unique neighbour (a heritage bushland reserve many times larger than a typical suburban park) and to the older farm-selection land further from the boundary.

More on termite inspections →Barrier systems designed for properties bordering the military reserve as well as older farm-selection blocks further south-west.
More on termite treatment →Treatment for ants, cockroaches and spiders moving in from the reserve's extensive native bushland, a steady source of pressure given its scale.
More on general pest control →Baiting and exclusion sealing for rats and mice moving from reserve-adjacent bushland into homes and sheds, especially through cooler months.
More on rodent control →Greenbank was settled early, in the 1840s, when horse traders Jackson and Slack selected land here, later taken up by Adam Moody's Apple Tree Run. Farm selections opened through the 1870s on well-timbered land, with Teviot Road giving access to the Logan River for moving timber and farm produce to market. That changed dramatically from 1951, when the Commonwealth moved to acquire a large timbered farm in the north of the area for military use, despite opposition from local progress associations. The resumption was gazetted that year, the Greenbank Army Camp was established in 1952, and a further expansion in 1966, again opposed locally, added Timber Reserve 446 to the site.
Today the Greenbank Military Range covers roughly 4,500 hectares, heritage-listed and also managed as a flora and fauna reserve, used for training by the regular army, reserves and school cadets. Most of Greenbank's residential population lives south-west of that reserve, on land subdivided for rural-residential living from the 1960s onward. That's an enormous, continuous stretch of native bushland sitting directly against residential streets (far larger than the reserve or park most suburbs border) and it keeps a steady supply of termites, ants and native wildlife moving toward the nearest boundary properties.
For homeowners, that means Greenbank properties closest to the reserve boundary generally see more sustained bushland pest pressure than homes further south-west on the older 1870s farm-selection land, which carries its own risk from generations-old timber instead. We read which zone a property sits in before recommending a treatment plan.
Alongside pest control Greenbank, we service the surrounding suburbs bordering the same military reserve and growth corridor, with termite treatment and general pest control visits scheduled together where convenient.

Yes, significantly. At roughly 4,500 hectares, the reserve is far larger than a typical suburban park or bushland buffer, and it keeps a steady supply of termites, ants and native wildlife moving toward boundary properties. We recommend more frequent inspections for homes closest to it.
Yes. Properties on 1870s farm-selection land further from the reserve often carry generations-old timber (fencing, sheds, early farm buildings); that's a different risk profile to reserve-boundary bushland pressure.
Yes, we service all residential Greenbank properties, including those closest to the reserve boundary south-west of the range. We don't enter the reserve itself, only treat the private property.
We recommend annual inspections for reserve-boundary properties given the scale of adjacent bushland, and standard inspection intervals further from the boundary.
Ants and spiders are common given the extent of native bushland nearby, and we see seasonal rodent activity moving from the reserve into sheds and roof spaces during cooler months.
Cost depends on proximity to the reserve, property age and whether termites are already active. We provide a fixed, written quote after inspection.
Greenbank has been entirely within Logan City since the March 2008 council amalgamation, having previously been split between Logan and Beaudesert Shire. Its defining feature is the roughly 4,500-hectare Greenbank Military Range, acquired by the Commonwealth from 1951 and still used for defence training today, with most residential growth concentrated south-west of the reserve since the 1960s. That scale of bordering bushland is what makes pest control Greenbank genuinely different from a standard Logan suburb.
