Stockleigh sits about 10km north-east of Jimboomba, a dairying district since the 1860s that's now home to around 1,150 residents, a mix of century-old homesteads like the 1885-built Sunnyside and a newer housing estate near Logan Village.
Milk and cream from Stockleigh's dairy farms once crossed the Logan River to the Kingston factory via the Maclean Bridge, and the sheds and timber infrastructure from that era are still common on local blocks. Bob Gunn Termite & Pest Control has delivered pest control Stockleigh services for 25+ years with our own in-house technicians.

Stockleigh's dairying past means a lot of its older properties still have original milking sheds, bails and other timber farm infrastructure, often decades older than the house itself. Pest control Stockleigh work has to check that infrastructure alongside the home, while the newer housing estate near Logan Village needs a more standard new-build approach. Every termite treatment Stockleigh and general pest control Stockleigh visit we run accounts for which side of that divide a property falls on.
Few suburbs in the corridor carry as much working farm history as Stockleigh. A pest control Stockleigh job on an original dairy block means checking milking sheds and bails that have stood since the early 1900s, not just the main house.
Our pest control Stockleigh service covers both the suburb's dairy-era properties and its newer residential pocket near Logan Village, scoped from a proper inspection of what's actually on the block.

More on rodent control →Stockleigh takes its name from Devon, England, honouring pioneer Will Elworthy's birthplace after he and George Hawkins took up land here on 1 September 1863. The Hawkins family later built the substantial homestead Sunnyside in 1885, and a provisional school opened in 1873, serving children from both sides of the Logan River until it closed in 1935. The district turned to dairying, with milk and cream carried across the Maclean Bridge to the Kingston dairy factory, a trade that defined Stockleigh well into the 20th century.
That dairying history is still physically present on a lot of properties: old milking sheds, bails, feed stores and fencing that in many cases predate the current house by decades. Timber structures that old, especially ones that haven't been used for their original purpose in years, are a common place for termite activity to establish quietly. More recently, Stockleigh has added an environmental park and a small housing estate in the east of the locality, near Logan Village, bringing a different kind of property into the same suburb.
For pest control purposes, that means a Stockleigh job can look very different depending on which part of the suburb you're in: a working farm property with 100-year-old sheds, or a recently built home near Logan Village. We assess which one we're dealing with before recommending treatment.
Alongside pest control Stockleigh, we service the surrounding dairy-country suburbs and the growing Logan Village area, with termite treatment and general pest control visits often scheduled together.

Yes. Original farm timber structures often carry more termite activity than the house itself, since they're checked less often and frequently sit unused. We treat them as part of the same inspection.
Yes. Newer homes near Logan Village typically just need a termite system verification, while older dairy-era properties need a full assessment of farm infrastructure as well as the house.
Decades-old timber sheds, bails and fencing left from the dairying era give termite colonies plenty of undisturbed places to establish, often well before any activity becomes visible in the main house.
Yes. Properties bordering Stockleigh's environmental park tend to see more ant and general pest activity from the reserve's vegetation, which we factor into treatment planning.
We recommend annual inspections for properties with original farm infrastructure, and standard inspections for newer homes near Logan Village.
Cost depends on property type, size and the number of structures involved. We provide a fixed, written quote after inspection.
Stockleigh is a semi-rural locality in the City of Logan, about 10km north-east of Jimboomba, with a dairying history dating to 1863. Larger acreage blocks still dominate the suburb, alongside an environmental park and a small housing estate near Logan Village in the east. That working farm heritage, still visible in sheds and timber infrastructure on many properties, is what sets pest control Stockleigh apart from a standard suburban job.
